Youth Internship Available
To be considered for the internship program, applicants must meet the following minimum
criteria:
1. Academic Standing:
o Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university/ community college
o Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
2. Field of Study:
o Major or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Public Policy
- Public Health
- Government or Political Science
- Sociology
- Community Development
- Economics
- Health Administration
- Other related disciplines
3. Community and Leadership Experience:
- Evidence of engagement in community service, volunteer work, or
leadership in campus or civic organizations within the past 2 years
4. Essay Requirement:
o A 500-word personal statement describing:
- The applicant’s specific interest in public policy and/or public health.
- How the internship aligns with their academic and career goals.
- Any personal or community experiences that have influenced their
- interest in this field.
5. Recommendations:
- One faculty or professional recommendation
6. Availability:
- Ability to commit to the full internship period ( 8 weeks during the summer).
